Welcome Words for Grand Opening
Dear Patrons:
We are glad to announce the formally opening of the latest Grand Sichuan restaurant located at 368 west 46th Street (close to 9th ave) on September 1, 2010.
Unlike most other restaurant chains which have the same menus for different locations, we always try to add something new to a new restaurant. This time we add or modify a few things on following aspects:
1. Refine or upgrade classical Sichuan dishes like Ma Po Tu fu, Double cooked pork, Braised whole fish with hot bean sauce, Dry and sautéed string beans, Smoked tea duck, and others. If you taste them, you can feel the differences.
2. Serve some new Sichuan dishes that are popular now in China such as Aromatic and spicy wok, Grilled whole fish, Chong Qing spicy chicken, Sichuan Dong Pu pork, and others. If you eat them, you would experience what Chinese eat now in China.
3. A few "Latest Dishes" are really a mix of Eastern ingredients and Western style, which is a trend in China. Dishes like Salmon fish with two flavors, Red wine beef, Radish with pig bone soup, Fruit shrimp, and Chinese fish burger are showing their new faces in a Chinese restaurant.
4. Molecular cooking has been introduced because it has been so hot in China since last year. As a beginning, we apply some molecular foams, spheres, and caviars to decorate some dishes. Most importantly, we use a lot of Sous vide (not exactly) technique to make meats tender and tasty, which is the major progress.
We hope this menu can bring latest dishes, techniques, ingredients, and flavors to our patrons in New York, and also mirror the development and trend of restaurant business in China.
Here we express our thanks to Mr. Bloch who designed our restaurant and gave our restaurant a new look. Although the restaurant is small, it is clean and neat. There are only 20 seats in the front dinning room, 25 seats in the back dinning room, and 10 to 15 seats in the garden party room. Our kitchen is in the right of the middle, which is Mr. Bloch's masterpiece. In this way, he saved the garden for patrons. The kitchen is an open kitchen, and you can watch what chef and cooks do inside.
The business hours are 11:30 am to 11:00 pm from Monday to Friday, and closed from 3:00 to 5:00 pm daily for after lunch break. Weekends and holidays will open 12:00 at noon, and close at 11:00.
For formerly opening, we offer a special 12% discount for all food items except drinks to all patrons from September 1 to September 7, and you only need to pay 88% of the original price. "8" is a luck and fortune number in Chinese culture, and we send out our best wish and regard to our customers.
We welcome and appreciate your coming, and express our many thanks to your comments, suggestions, and even criticism about our restaurant, everything from food, service, to inside environment. Please help us serve you better.
